San Clemente has plenty of great spots to get outdoors including walking, biking, and dog-friendly trails that you can visit. The most popular and scenic trail is the San Clemente Beach Trail which runs from North Beach to Calafia State Beach. The beach trailhead at North Beach is just a short distance from stairway access to Sea Summit, San Clemente's newest and arguably most scenic trail.
San Clemente’s newest trails are now open to the public. This large recreation and preservation area is a great new place to enjoy stunning views of San Clemente, Dana Point, and the ocean while getting some good exercise and outdoors time. The trails total around four miles in total and have several points of access into the area including the limited parking across the Vista Hermosa bridge. Stairway access from the PCH and corner of El Camino Real and Avenida Pico give North Beach visitors another option for things to do. Stairway access to this area gives you access into North Beach by crossing the intersection near the Pico train station. The San Clemente Beach Trail is just a short distance from the corner giving walkers, joggers, and dog walkers access to even more trails to enjoy. The surrounding area remains heavily under construction and the expected opening date of the Outlets at San Clemente nears.
