Bonfires at the beach
Roasting a marshmallow, cooking a hot dog, warming your hands up, and talking with friends are just a few reasons why a bonfire at the beach is one of the best things to do in San Clemente at night. Most beaches have burn pits that make it easy to have a fire safely along the beach. Summer months in San Clemente are perfect for a bonfire at the beach. Parking space is generally easy to find after sunset, or around 7pm when things quiet down at the pier and nearby beaches.
Other Things To Do At Night
Drive the Pacific Coast Highway at Night
Highway 1 is a fun drive in the early morning especially during evening hours when there is little traffic. Catching the coastline during a sunset into night is one of the best times to drive the PCH. The road along the Pacific Coast Highway is best from San Clemente to Newport Beach where you can enjoy miles of winding roadways and plenty of places to stop for a coffee or food. The PCH is incredibly scenic and especially interesting at night where you can only see either the dark sky and stars to the west, or the meandering roadway and hills to the east speckled with elevating residential lights. The drive at night is best between San Clemente and Laguna Beach where you can enjoy curving roadways and the beautiful scenery.
